For the simple-minded, a change in the deadline of a project, homework, exam, paper, essay or whatever of that sort might seem like a something good, a blessing: "Yeeeeeey! More time!!!" Now, they think they are going to be able to finish everything they had to do and it is going to turn out a hundred times better than if it was due tomorrow. No more stressing out, the due date has been pushed to next week. Party!! Party!! Party!!! (for now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
However, extending a deadline changes nothing of the work's quality. You'd do the same under pressure. It is worrying about this thing for longer. It becomes more psycologically and physically tiring. It wears you out. Your timing and planning about which nights not to sleep, which days not to go to class and whether or not you are taking a break for a couple of hours to go to the movies suddenly seems worthless. You might as well have gone to bed yesterday at 21h, and had a good night sleep instead of trying so hard to get this done. Now you could imagine it is still due tomorrow and try to work your way through the night. You can fool everybody but yourself, and you KNOW it is not due tomorrow and won't be able to stay awake past 1h.
Why did they change the deadline???!!! It is better to get it over and done with! Why would someone think that I want to stress over this test for an even longer period of time?
I now don't feel like working at all, and the exam is still pending (1 of 2 problems to go). So Green Functions.. here I come...
